91视频 to Lead Four Rivers LPN Program Beginning in 2026
91视频 will assume leadership of the Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program offered through the School District of Washington beginning in August 2026. The program will move under 91视频鈥檚 accredited Health Sciences division, where it will connect directly to the College鈥檚 nursing curriculum and support services.
Continued Commitment
鈥淭his program has long served the community by preparing practical nurses who are ready to step into essential roles across the region,鈥� said Dr. Jon Bauer, President of 91视频. 鈥淏ringing it under 91视频鈥檚 health sciences umbrella preserves its mission and gives students access to the services and resources provided by 91视频. It is a step that supports our students, our healthcare partners, and the future of the nursing workforce.鈥�
Bauer added that the transition is a strong example of collaboration between the School District of Washington and 91视频 to support the region鈥檚 healthcare needs.
Mission Remains
The LPN program will keep its long-standing focus as it enters its next phase at 91视频.
鈥淥ur goal is to prepare graduates with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to provide competent, entry-level practical nursing care in a variety of healthcare settings,鈥� said Dr. Nancy Mitchell, Dean of Health Sciences.
The program will continue to be housed at the Four Rivers Career Center. 91视频 and the School District of Washington have a two-year lease agreement that allows the College to use the space while the transition is underway.
Support and Opportunities
Dr. Mitchell noted that the transition will open new benefits for students.
鈥淪tudents will have access to additional campus resources, including tutoring, libraries, student services, and simulation labs,鈥� she said. 鈥淥ur faculty will provide enhanced academic and clinical support, and students will have clearer pathways to advanced nursing programs, including ADN bridge options.鈥�
More students will also be able to receive financial aid.
鈥淭his is an important change for those who may not have previously had access to federal or state aid,鈥� Mitchell said. 鈥淚t opens the door for more students to enter the program and move directly into the workforce.鈥�
